An employee status indicator lets other employees see if a particular person is on the phone or receiving a call. This is particularly useful when you need to know if you should transfer a customer to this person or if you need to find a sales representative who is currently free to take calls. This feature can be used to tell whether a person is on the phone even if they are at home or across the country. Employee indicators are possible with many of our Hosted PBX phones.
Note that you can also use employee indicators to call your co-workers. Each indicator also functions as a speed-dial button. Finally, you can use indicators for the purpose of Directed Call Pickup which allows you to answer another employee’s calls if they are unavailable.
