Directed Call Pickup allows you to pick up a ringing line from any phone. For instance, if Steve’s phone is ringing, and you know Steve won’t be available to answer, you can pick Steve’s line from your phone. To use this feature you simply need to enable the feature in your account preferences, and then update your phone via the web portal.
To use this feature with Mitel phones, wait until you see the status indicator/presence button flashing red (ringing) for a specific person’s extension, and then press the button beside that person’s name to pick up the ringing line. If you don’t have an Aastra phone you can also use the *8X feature code which is outlined in the Quick Key Reference guide under the list of User Guides.
